Getting to Mijas

To get flights to Mijas the easiest airport to fly into is Malaga Airport.  Mijas is only 25 minutes drive away from Malaga airport.

We recommend a hire car to visit Mijas so you can get the most out of your holidays.

It is easy to get to Mijas in your hire car from Malaga airport. Apart from a couple of turn offs by the airport that you have to stay sharp for it is a straight forward and easy enough drive.

Once you have left the Helle Hollis installations next to Malaga Airport, head for MA-20 with direction for Cadiz and Algeciras.  After the large BMW garaje follow signs for AP-7 Algeciras/Cadiz and you will get on the motorway. After 20 minutes follow the signage for Mijas.  You can take the exit km 217 but the road is quite winding to reach Mijas, or you can continue a bit further on the motorway and take the next exit for Mijas.  This road is easy and quite straight forward to reach Mijas village.

If you are going to Mijas Costa then you should stay on N-340 and past Fuengirola you will come to Mijas Costa.

You can also transfer from Malaga Airport to Mijas by bus and there are trains that take you into Fuengirola. The problem with both the trains and the buses are no direct connections. After you have caught the train to Fuengirola you will need to get a bus or taxi to Mijas Costa or Mijas Village.
