Speed limits in Spain

We can see that unfortunately many of our clients do get speeding fines while on holiday. Often the vehicle is captured by CCTV cameras on the motorway despite there being a warning about that speed limit control in place.

If you see this sign

then beware as there is radar control of the speed limit.

If you always respect the speed limit then you will avoid to receiving  a fine and also our administration fee for handling the fine.

We are obliged by law to advise the traffic police department who is the driver of the rental car.  It creates a lot of administrative work as the original contract has to be validated by the car hire association, and we have to present ourselves in person to do this.  Only then can we send the documentation by certified mail to the traffic police department or town hall.  Therefore drive safely, drive within the limits and enjoy your holidays!
