Getting to Sierra Nevada
Posted on 21 December 2014For flights to the Sierra Nevada you need to fly into either Granada Airport or Malaga Airport.
Granada Airport is quite a lot closer to the Sierra Nevada Parque than Malaga but has only one flight from the UK with British Airways from London city airport.
From Granada Airport it is simply a matter of finding your way onto the A92 and then following the signs up in to the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range.
If you fly into Malaga you have about a 90 minute transfer up into the Sierra Nevada. Again it’s a fairly straight forward enough journey, follow the A7 to Granada / Seville and then branch off onto the A92 to Granada.
The benefit of traveling to Malaga Airport as opposed to Granada Airport is the shear number of flights on offer.
If you are doing a mini tour of Spain you could always fly into Alicante, Almeria or Murcia. All are about 3 hours drive from the Sierra Nevada but give you the opportunity of seeing a little bit more of the countryside.
