Getting to Nueva Andalucia
Posted on 21 December 2014To get to Nueva Andalucia means flying into one of the following airports, Malaga or Gibraltar.
Malaga is by far the easiest airport to fly into; it is about a 45 minute drive from Nueva Andalucia and receives literally 100s of flights from the UK each day.

The best way to drive from Malaga Airport to Nueva Andalucia is via the toll road (A7). Some brief driving directions to Nueva Andalucia are to leave the airport and head for the A7 in the direction of Cadiz. After about 22 kms follow the signs for the PEAJE /Toll road (Cadiz). About 10 kms after the Toll Kiosk follow the signs for San Pedro and Estepona on theN340 coast road. After you exit a large tunnel take the first or second exit to Nueva Andalucia.
Unfortunately there are not any trains or buses that run straight into Nueva Andalucia. The Malaga Airport trains service stops at Fuengirola and to catch a bus would mean changing at Marbella Bus Terminal and again at Puerto Banus.
With the lack of public transportation from Malaga airport to Nueva Andalucia, a hire car is the most practical solution for travelling to your destination.
Taxis from Malaga Airport to Nueva Andalucia cost in the region of 85 euros and you are expected to pay for the tolls if you ask the taxi driver to drive on the toll road. The road toll charges are about 3.25 euros in the winter and 5.25 euros in the summer months.
Gibraltar Airport is about 75 kms from Nueva Andalucia and although it receives only a couple of flights per day from the UK it may suit you better. Flying into Gibraltar does also mean crossing a manned border into Spain.
