Exploring Nerja

If you are staying in Nerja and fancy doing a little bit of exploring then why not hire a car at Malaga Airport and drive to Nerja?

Nerja, unlike the majority of the resorts on the Costa Del Sol is to the east of Malaga. It is about 50 kms east of Malaga City and 100 kms south of Granada.

Nerja is in fact at one end of the Costa del Sol and Gibraltar is about 175 kms away at the other end of the Costa Del Sol.

Next to Nerja you have the small white village Frigiliana with narrow streets. We recommend that you park your hire car and walk around in the village.

You can reach many other parts of the Costa del Sol with relative ease from Nerja. A drive to the resort of Marbella for example is about 100 kms and should take no longer than 90 minutes.  Or your could head for Sierra Nevada in Granada.

If you are staying in Nerja with the kids and fancy heading for a theme park then the best place to aim for is Benalmadena. In Benalmadena you will find a selection of Theme parks and places for the kids to visit including Sea Life, Selwo Marina and Tivoli World.

Tivoli World will take you around 1 hour to drive to and is a typical theme park with plenty of shows, rides and things to do. Please note that due to the hot summer weather Tivoli World is open from 4pm – 3am in the summer.

Also within easy driving distance of Nerja are the towns and resorts of Puerto Banus, Fuengirola, Estepona, Sotogrande and Malaga City itself.
