The Malaga town fair 2012 – also called Feria in Spanish
Posted on 02 August 2012
August in Andalucia is the time for fairs (called “feria” in Spanish). The most famous one is the annual fair in Malaga which takes place from the 13th to the 20th of August.
On Friday the 12th of August the inauguration takes place with fireworks and a free concert around midnight in the centre of Malaga. Over the following days the fair is concentrated in the city centre during the day and then goes each night to the fairground which is situated near the congress centre.
You will also find local fairs both inland and along the coast, so here are some ideas of where to go:
Benalmadena Pueblo celebrates its annual fair from the 15 – 18 of August
Feria de Álora from the 5 – 8 August
Feria de Pizarra 15 – 18 August
Feria de Monda 16 – 19 August
Feria de Tolox 16 – 19 August
Feria de Alhaurín el Grande from the 15 – 18 August
Whether you go by day or night have a fun time! Enjoy the freedom to explore and mingle with the locals at their happiest and get to know the real Spain.
