Posted on 21 December 2014The main tourist capital of the Costa Tropical is Almunecar. Many people haven’t even heard of the Costa Tropical and Almunecar but it can be found in the Province of Granada which is to the east of the Costa Del Sol and forms the eastern edge of Andalucia.
The mountain ranges of the Sierra Nevada tower above Almunecar and in this part of Spain you will find small villages clinging to the hillsides that are full of Olive and Almond trees.

Inland the whole area rises up into the mountains and is dotted with farmhouses and small villages that in turn lead up into the Pena Escrita Natural Park.

If you drive down to the sea there are 19km of coastline which is made up of a mixture of wide, sandy beaches and small coves.
