Getting to Granada Airport
Posted on 21 December 2014Located on the plains of the River Genil 16 kms west of the city near the small town of Santa Fe, Granada Airport mainly handles domestic flights to Barcelona, Madrid and Melilla. British Airways operates a direct flight from the UK from London City to Granada Airport.
There is no train service at the airport but there are seven buses a day to the city centre. Getting around here is much easier if you have your own transport arranged. Car hire can be arranged from Granada Airport or Helle Hollis can offers its car rental services from Malaga Airport.
The Spanish motorway network in this area is excellent and there are very good links to the rest of the country with Seville about a two hour drive, Madrid a bit further at five hours, Barcelona takes eleven hours, the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort is 40 minutes and Malaga is ninety minutes away.
