Everyone knows the traffic rules but in Spain you will find some, perhaps curious traffic laws, which you should take into account when driving:
Did you know that you can get a fine if you do any of the following:
1. Drive with flip-flops, no shoes or bare-chested can cost a fine of 200 euros
2. Drive with an arm or a hand out of the car window can cost a fine of 100 euros
3. If you are waiting at a red traffic light and chose to eat something, or fix your make-up, then it can cost you 200 euros in fines and two points on your driving license
4. Drive with loud music in residential areas, near hospitals or early morning hours, it can cost a fine of 80-100 euros.
5. Drive in the left lane or middle lane when the right-hand lane is free, can cost you a fine of 20 0 euros
6. Biting nails while driving or discussing with a fellow passengers or insulting other drivers with signs and gestures, can cost up to 80 euros in fines.
Most fines we receive though are where the speed limit has been exceeded. So drive carefully and don´t get any unpleasant surprise when you return from your holidays.
