The city of Fuengirola welcomes its annual October Town Fair, where the people of Fuengirola gather to celebrate and pay homage to the Virgen del Rosario, patron saint of the city.
The most important day is the 7th of October, where the procession of the Virgin of the Rosary (known is Spanish as "Virgen del Rosario") takes place through the most important streets of Fuengirola.
The festivities, which last for 6 days, begin with the opening speech and the subsequent opening ceremony in the Palacio de la Paz.
Due to the religious character that precedes it, as part of the celebrations there will be Masses and performances by the brotherhood choir of Fuengirola, where visitors will be able to witness the locals dressed in typical flamenco costumes. During the day there will also be horse rides, pilgrimages and flamenco-themed decorations throughout the area.
As part of the celebrations, the town will host performances by some nationally recognised artists, such as Antonio José or Taburete. As in other fairs on the Costa del Sol, children's attractions and various street food stalls can be found on the fairground.
From 6th to 12th October.
The festivities begin with the opening speech in the Palacio de la Paz at 21:30h and end in the early hours of 13 October, with the closing of the children's attractions on the fairground.
