A guide to buying tickets to Alhambra.
With a stunning backdrop of the Sierra Nevada the beautiful Moorish palace, Alhambra, is only one and a half’s hour drive away from Malaga. Alhambra was built by the Moors in the 1300th century, and is one of Spain’s biggest tourist attractions. We have had several customers who have asked how to buy tickets for the Alhambra and where to find the official website for ticket sale.
From mid October 2017 the official ticket sale is done directly by the public Alhambra organisation.
There are two ways to order your Alhambra tickets:
- Order your tickets online at the official sales site for Alhambra. Click here.
- You can call and order by phone (from abroad) +34 858 953 616 (English and Spanish speaking staff)
Ticketmaster.es does not any longer sell the tickets for Alhambra.
For your information there are different types of tickets for Alhambra.
You can buy a “general day ticket” (Alhambra General) which includes visit to the Nasrid Palace, Alcazaba and Generalife gardens.
There is also the possibility to visit the Alhambra at night with the purchase of the “Night visit to Nasrid Palace“. The entrance time is from 20:00hours. This visit does not include the Generalife gardens. Or you can take the “Night visit to Gardens and Generalife” which does not include the Nasrid Palace.
Finally, you can buy a ticket to see the beautiful gardens, Generalife and Alcazaba, but this ticket does not give you access to the Nasrid Palace.
We highly recommend the purchase of a general day ticket (Alhambra General). You will choose the time of access to the Nasrid Palace but the rest of the places, Generalife and Alcazaba, you can visit how it suits you during the day.
This is how you buy your ticket to Alhambra. The website is in English and its easy to follow the steps.
Select “Alhambra General” ticket
Select how many tickets you need
Children under 12 years old have free access but must have a ticket to present. So remember to select their tickets here.
Select the day you wish to visit Alhambra
Select the time you wish to visit the Nasrid Palace
It is important to fill in the personal details, as you must present the ticket together with a personal identification document, e.g. passport.
In the final step you will be asked to pay for the tickets with MasterCard or Visacard.
You will then receive a confirmation email and you will be asked to print your tickets at home. The ticket must be printed at a A4 paper and be of good quality. The QR code must be readable. If the printed ticket is not readable, it will be considered null.
It is also possible to print the ticket at the ticket office but there might be waiting time to access the ticket machines so it is not a recommendable solution.
With your Alhambra tickets in hand, you are now ready to begin the exciting visit. You should calculate about 3 hours for the visit.
Enjoy your trip to the Alhambra!
