Also known as St Helena\u2019s Castle, the structure originates from the Nasrid period and had been largely neglected until the 1920s. Today, locals and visitors alike make the steep hike up to enjoy the location, about 853 metres above sea level.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Situated on the aptly named Cerro del Sol (Hill of the Sun), it was once part of a defensive system for the Generalife and the gardens of the Alhambra.
