\u201cWhile the main historic cities are all well-connected by train and bus, to truly get off the beaten path in Andaluc\u00eda, you really need a car. Andaluc\u00eda has so many hidden gems, beautiful small towns, places to get outside and experience nature, hidden beaches, regional cities, places to taste local delicacies such as olive oil, cheese, and honey, and more! But the vast majority of these special places are not easily accessible by public transportation. Having access to a car in Andaluc\u00eda really opens so many doors for you and can take you to places that most travellers completely miss.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alison, from the Spanish travel blog Alison in Andalucia<\/a><\/span>, has also spoken to us and believes that being able to access hard-to-reach places is a huge benefit of hiring a car:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne of the main benefits for me of hiring a car when visiting Andalucia is being able to enjoy some of the smaller towns and villages that aren\u2019t easily reached by public transport. For example, the pueblos blancos (white villages), which are a highlight of any trip, don\u2019t all have regular bus services, so hiring a car makes perfect sense and means you get a glimpse of the real Andalucia off the tourist trail.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabo de Gata can only be visited via car, and it\u2019s a location not to be missed. Located in the Almeria province, it is Andalusia\u2019s largest protected coastal area, featuring a hot desert climate, beaches, and volcanic rock formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laura, from Eternal Expat<\/a><\/span>, has visited Cabo de Gata and describes some of its best features: \u201cI\u2019ve explored some seriously beautiful parts of the Mediterranean, like Cassis and the Italian Riviera, but the ruggedness of Cabo de Gata really surprised and delighted me.
