Whether you are looking for unique souvenirs, a lasting reminder of your trip or just a new outfit for a dinner reservation that evening, Malaga\u2019s shopping spots will prevail. Just arrange your car hire in Malaga<\/a> at the airport and journey into the city to start your shopping spree.<\/p>\n

In this article, we take a look at the best shopping spots in Malaga. At the time of publishing the article, Spain has just ended the state of alert. All shops are open but currently, it is mandatory to wear a face mask and keep social distancing. However, that doesn\u2019t mean you can\u2019t enjoy the offerings of Malaga\u2019s top shopping spots.<\/p>\n

Calle Larios<\/h2>\n

Best for: Shopping in the city centre<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are spending your day in the city centre, then you\u2019ll have likely walked through Calle Larios without even realising. The \u2018high street\u2019 of Malaga, here you can find a great range of stores and a real hub of city life.<\/p>\n

Rebecca, a blogger from Yours Truly Rebecca<\/a>, told us: \u201cMalaga is not only known for its beaches, parties and history, it is also the perfect destination to shop \u2018til you drop. The main shopping street in Malaga is Calle Larios where you can find high-end shops and quirky boutiques. There is something for everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n

Larios Centro<\/h2>\n

Best for: An all-round shopping experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located on the site of an old gin factory, Larios Centro is a large shopping centre with plenty to offer. And, with almost 14 million visitors here every year, you know it\u2019s a hotspot for shopping!<\/p>\n

We spoke to Enrique at Malaga Adventures<\/a>, who recommended Larios Centro to us. He said: \u201cMalaga has several shopping spots all around the city but my favourite one is Larios Centro.<\/p>\n

\u201cLarios Shopping Mall is located in Avenida de la Aurora, 5 minutes away from the Train Station of Malaga Maria Zambrano. You can easily go there by bus or walking since it is 15 minutes from the city centre.\u201d<\/p>\n

Enrique told us what shoppers can expect from Larios Centro: \u201cIn Larios Centro, you can literally find everything you\u2019re looking for, from clothing stores we all know and love to cafes and restaurants. I consider it an ideal place to spend time with friends or family while shopping or sipping a good cup of coffee between chats.\u201d<\/p>\n

Enrique also told us it is \u201ca great alternative if you want to escape from a hot summer afternoon in the city centre.\u201d<\/p>\n

Atarazanas Central<\/h2>\n

Best for: An authentic foodie experience<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you are a food lover, look no further than Atarazanas Central in Malaga Old Town. Replete with market stalls selling fresh foods, you\u2019ll be able to try a real taste of the Iberian Peninsula here.<\/p>\n

We spoke to Alicia, the owner of Oh My Good Guide, a Malaga Tour company<\/a>. She told us that she loves shopping in the Old Town: \u201cI love to go shopping in Malaga Old Town, where the shopping experience is highlighted by the little traditional shops, hidden streets and city sights you find on the way. Discovering the city while you go shopping is just magic, much better than any shopping centre!\u201d<\/p>\n

She then told us about her favourite spot in Old Town: \u201cAtarazanas Central Market,<\/strong> a foodie paradise where you can find the best of our local produce. Alameda Principal<\/h2>\n

Best for: Buying fresh flowers<\/strong><\/p>\n

As one of the main streets in the city, you\u2019ll likely pass through the Alameda Principal whilst visiting Malaga, but many visitors don\u2019t realise the great shopping opportunity it has. With about a dozen fresh flower vendors on the strip, you\u2019ll be able to buy a stunning floral arrangement here.<\/p>\n

Whether you want to dress up a holiday home or even buy a bouquet before a date night as a surprise, you\u2019ll be able to get the perfect bunch here.<\/p>\n

\"Malagueta<\/p>\n

Muelle Uno<\/h2>\n

Best for: Water-front browsing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Muelle Uno, or Pier One, is an eccentric development and can offer a wonderful, water-side shopping experience. With towering palm trees lining the main walkway and yachts moored in the harbour, it certainly feels like a luxury spot. Only a short stroll from Playa da Malagueta, and overlooking Malaga\u2019s famed port, a visit here is a great way to break up a day at the beach. Plus, with a range of wonderful entertainment options here it is also a great spot for an evening stroll.<\/p>\n

As well as being a great place to shop or enjoy a delicious meal, Muelle Uno is home to many stunning views, so don\u2019t forget your camera! From the iconic lighthouse to the Chapel of Muelle Uno, you\u2019ll find no shortage of unique buildings and awe-inspiring sights here.<\/p>\n

On the first three Sundays of the month, you\u2019ll be able to enjoy the souk (Zoco)  here. Filled with local craftspeople selling all manner of items, you\u2019re sure to find a unique souvenir. This open-air market is truly first-class, and stalls stock everything from fashion items to craft pieces and more.<\/p>\n

Plaza Mayor<\/h2>\n

Best for: Shopping near the airport<\/strong><\/p>\n

Another great shopping centre on the Costa Del Sol<\/a>, the Plaza Mayor is located less than 10 minutes away from Malaga Airport. So, whether you want to pick some stuff up once you land or get some last-minute shopping in before your flight home, this is the perfect location.<\/p>\n

With over 80 stores in total, everyone in your party will be able to find a store they like, so no need to worry over a limited selection. And, if you\u2019ve got extra time or are looking for a date night idea, there is even a cinema here!<\/p>\n

McArthurGlen Designer Outlet<\/h2>\n

Best for: Design brands at outlet prices<\/strong><\/p>\n

If big brand names are your thing you are in luck, as the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet opened earlier in 2020. McArthurGlen has outlets all around Europe, so this may be a name you\u2019re familiar with and if you are, you\u2019ll know you can get some great brands at low prices here.<\/p>\n

As a newly opened centre, and the first of its kind in Southern Spain, you can expect state-of-the-art shopping and a fresh feel whilst here. With a flowing layout and great design, you\u2019ll get swept along from store to store. Plus, the outlet is next to Plaza Mayor, so you are able to enjoy two wonderful shopping destinations within reach of each other \u2013 what\u2019s not to love?<\/p>\n
