Mixing both Spanish and Arab influences, Granada has a unique flavour that will make any visit to the area truly memorable. This mix of cultures also plays into its fantastic culinary scene. Everywhere you look in Granada there is a top bar, caf\u00e9, or restaurant to stop at for a delicious bite to eat. From fresh seafood and Arabic flavours to the best tapas around, it\u2019s all here in Granada.<\/p>\n

Bar Casa Julio<\/a> is one of the best local hangouts in Granada. This family-run establishment sports a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, cheap drinks, and delicious, authentic food. Located in the heart of the city, Bar Casa Julio also comes highly recommended by Eric, one-half of the Spanish-based food blog Food & Drink Destinations<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\u201cBar Casa Julio in Granada is our absolute favourite place to eat. The bar has been around sinc\u00bae 1947. It\u2019s small, it gets packed by both locals (always a good sign) and tourists, creating a lively energy. The same family has been operating the bar for three generations. Bar Casa Julio is famous for its signature fried fish. How they prepare it is a closely guarded secret. Regardless of how they make it, the dish is mouth-watering and highly addictive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eric also shared with us his top dish recommendation: \u201cFor the adventurous eater, no trip to Granada (Andalusia) is complete without trying caracoles, snails. Snails are very popular around Spain. Real, authentic paella includes snails. In Granada, snails are served in a sauce made from locally grown almonds, black pepper and garlic. They are the perfect bar snack with a glass of vermouth or local wine. Ordering a tapas portion is a great way to be adventurous without wasting food.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flamenco is emblematic of the Andalusian region and this incredible dance is a favourite source of entertainment for locals when paired with a delicious bite to eat. The restaurant says:<\/p>\n

Opening its doors back in 1976, Restaurante Chikito<\/a> is known as one of the must-dine places in Granada. Set in a historic part of the city, the restaurant\u2019s incredible reputation sees them welcome personalities from Spain\u2019s art, literature, and sporting scenes.
