Thinking about where your skiing holidays should go this year? Is it Norway, Austria and France that is considered?  We suggest a trip to Europe’s most southerly ski resort – Sierra Nevada.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sierra Nevada is just two hours\u2019 drive away (168 km) from M\u00e1laga<\/strong>, and one can easily drive back and forth on the same day if you only want to make a day trip out of it.<\/p>\n

If you are looking to spend a week on the ski resort, you’ll find a wide selection of hotels, apartments and restaurants in the area.<\/p>\n

On Saturday the 26th<\/sup> of November<\/strong> the ski season opens in Sierra Nevada<\/strong>.  There is expected to be several kilometres slopes available as there has already been a good snowfall. It\u2019s a great ski resort with over 116 slopes in various difficulty levels and Sierra Nevada advertise that the sun is shining over 70% of the time.<\/p>\n

This year there are discounts on the ski pass<\/strong> during weekdays which is something new – discounts are available from late January through to March.<\/p>\n

Sierra Nevada ski station is suitable for all ages and skills<\/strong>. There is large children\u2019s area with slopes and play area for the smaller skiers and  lots of squeals and fun at the sledging area with big rubber tires.<\/strong><\/p>\n

You can also take an organized 2-hour hike with snow rackets<\/strong> or you can go night skiing and snowboarding<\/strong>, every Thursday and Saturday from 19:30 to 22:30hours when the slopes are illuminated. Or maybe you would just love to drive a snow track machine, like the staff at the resort \u2013 it\u2019s an activity that must be booked in advance though.<\/p>\n

If you are an expert skier and dream of being the first one to go down the slopes on the virgin snow<\/strong>, then this can be organized every Sunday morning<\/strong> from 7.00h during the period 4th of December 2016 to April 4th of 2017.  You must sign up at the ski resort, and the activity is as always dependent on the weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Do you fancy watching some breathtaking leaps and moments on the slopes then make a  visit  from the 7th – 19th of March 2017 <\/strong>when the snowboard and freestyle ski championship<\/strong> will be held at Sierra Nevada – a visit worth planning ahead.<\/p>\n
