It is to the south of Granada and to the east of the Costa Del Sol.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">This picturesque town is a mass of white, Andalucian houses with narrow winding streets filled with blooming plants and flowers. As Salobrena is built on a huge rock some of the streets are steep and walking around all day will keep you fit and healthy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hellehollis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/guidetosalobrena.gif\"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1381\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hellehollis.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/guidetosalobrena.gif\" alt=\"Salobrena\" width=\"295\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nOn the summit of Salobrena, 105 m up, is an ancient Arabic castle that is open to the public throughout the year and provides some of the best views of the Costa Tropical.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">Down on the sea front Salobrena has a wide sandy beach that is cut in two by the Penon Rock. The beach is well served by a number of &#8220;Chiringuitos&#8221; which are basically Spanish Beach Bars serving a mixture of fresh fish, Paellas and fast foods such as hamburgers etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">As you wander around the streets of Salobrena you will find a good number of restaurants serving a wide range of food. You will find everything from traditional Spanish dishes through to pizzas and burgers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">One of the wonderful things about Spanish towns and Cities are the numbers of fiestas and festivals that are held each year. Salobrena has more than its fair share of parties and you will find one celebration or another on offer nearly every month of the year. The biggest religious festival is Santa Semana (Easter) and the biggest celebrations for the town are held at the end of June (San Juan) and again in October when the party is in aide of the patron Saint of Salobrena the Virgin of Rosario.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">Salobrena is worth visiting at anytime of year. The summer is obviously the busiest and hottest season but the mild winters and warm spring and autumn mean that a trip at any time of the year will provide a welcome break from the colder weather of northern Europe and the UK.<\/p>\n<p class=\"justifytext\">The best months for a holiday to Salobrena where you can enjoy the sun, beaches and warm evenings are May, June and September<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Salobrena is on the sea between two of the Costa Tropical&#8217;s largest towns, Almunecar and Motril.
