This allows the traffic control system to detect which vehicles are authorised to enter and which are not.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} --><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"generated-id-1\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Restricted Access Areas in M\u00e1laga\u2019s Historic Centre<\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The M\u00e1laga City Council has defined the following streets as part of the Restricted Traffic Zone (RTZ):<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li><em>Calle Carreter\u00eda and Calle \u00c1lamos (Route No. 7), and Calle Sebasti\u00e1n Souvir\u00f3n and Calle Sagasta (Route No. 8), as well as surrounding streets such as Cortina del Muelle, Puerta del Mar, Atarazanas, and Plaza de la Marina.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Additional nearby streets, including Calle Larios, Plaza de la Constituci\u00f3n, and Calle Granada, are primarily pedestrian and may also be subject to access control.<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} --><\/p>\n<h3 id=\"generated-id-2\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who can Enter M\u00e1laga\u2019s Restricted Access Zones?<\/h3>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>Only certain types of vehicles are authorised to drive in these areas:<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><!-- wp:list-item -->\n<li>Emergency services (police, fire brigade, ambulances)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Municipal and urban maintenance vehicles (cleaning, lighting, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Residents with a registered home or parking space<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Delivery, loading, and unloading vehicles with a valid time-based permit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Taxis, VTCs (private hire vehicles), and authorised hotel or tourist accommodation vehicles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Construction or technical service vehicles with temporary permits<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list-item --><\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:list --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:heading --><\/p>\n<h2 id=\"generated-id-3\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">M\u00e1laga\u2019s Low Emission Zone (LEZ)<\/h2>\n<p><!-- \/wp:heading --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surinenglish.com\/malaga\/malaga-city\/this-the-date-for-the-start-the-20250919074650-nt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Low Emission Zone (LEZ)<\/a><\/strong> is an environmental measure required for all Spanish cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants. Its aim is to reduce air pollution and improve citizens\u2019 health.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\n<p>In M\u00e1laga, the LEZ came into effect on 30 November 2024, following the approval of the city\u2019s sustainable mobility ordinance.
