Specifically, the radars that fine the most in Malaga are located at:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kilometre 978 of the A-7<\/strong>: in the eastern area of Malaga, near the exit towards Rinc\u00f3n de la Victoria (47764 fines in 2023).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kilometre 968 of the A-7<\/strong>: located further west, near Guadalmar and Torremolinos (44244 fines in 2023). <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Kilometre 936 of the A-7<\/strong>: to the west, towards Fuengirola or Estepona (29601 fines in 2023).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generated-id-6\">Speed cameras in M\u00e1laga city<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Not only the main roads have speed control. Within the city of <strong>Malaga <\/strong>there are<strong> 6 speed cameras<\/strong> located at <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/VbKDpMmhZiXCHyWJ8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Avenida Vall<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/VbKDpMmhZiXCHyWJ8\"><strong>e-Incl\u00e1n<\/strong><\/a>, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/9a3sQgYzBJX3Mcor5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Avenida Andaluc\u00eda<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/GE7MVRJdKXFsUcHZ9\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Avenida Pintor Joaqu\u00edn Sorolla<\/a><\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/kjAiuUCzG6x1L3sx5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Calle Pac\u00edfico<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/98J6XQfcCVbrMq3A7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Avenida Lope de Vega<\/strong><\/a> and the most recent one on Avenida Pintor Rodrigo in Puerto de la Torre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the other hand, the DGT is installing four new speed cameras on the roads connecting Malaga with other towns to reduce the accident rate. Of particular note is the installation of a <strong>new section radar<\/strong> on the MA-20 near the false <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/maps.app.goo.gl\/daSAx3vkWvU9Qq35A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tunnel of Carlos Haya <\/a><\/strong>in the direction of Malaga North. On this road, where there is a lot of daily traffic, the speed will be limited to 80 km\/h.<\/p>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generated-id-7\">2025 Update: new type of speed cameras to monitor safe following distances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The DGT has started installing a new road sign, the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surinenglish.com\/spain\/the-dgts-controversial-new-sign-warning-distance-20250829063149-nt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">S991f<\/a><\/strong>, which warns drivers of cameras designed to ensure they maintain a <strong>minimum safe distance<\/strong>. These systems, operational since July 2025, aim to reduce rear-end collisions and can issue fines of up to \u20ac200 and deduct 4 licence points from drivers who fail to comply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new signage, already visible on motorways and dual carriageways, makes it easier to identify monitored sections. In the province of Malaga, <strong>no cameras of this type have been installed yet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generated-id-8\">Penalties and fines for speed cameras in Malaga<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dgt.es\/nuestros-servicios\/multas-y-sanciones\/conoce-los-tipos-de-infracciones-y-sanciones\/\">Penalties for excessive speed<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dgt.es\/nuestros-servicios\/multas-y-sanciones\/conoce-los-tipos-de-infracciones-y-sanciones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">d<\/a><\/strong> are no joke. The fines vary depending on the speeding, being the amount between <strong>100 and 600 euros<\/strong> (in the most serious offences, up to loss of license points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How long does it take to receive a fine in Spain?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Once a speed camera catches an infraction of a vehicle, the process is automatic: the <strong>driver receives at home<\/strong> the notification with the details of the fine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to pay a fine in Spain<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Department of Transport (DGT)<\/strong> itself has an <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sede.dgt.gob.es\/en\/multas\/pago-de-multas\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">electronic office<\/a><\/strong> where you can makethe payment online. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Another option is to pay through the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/sede.dgt.gob.es\/export\/sites\/dgt\/es\/appmidgt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">miDGT app<\/a><\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Making the payment is also possible by <strong>phone<\/strong>.  Yoy have to call 060, using a credit or debit card.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you choose to go in person, you can make the payment at branches of the Caixa, at a post office or in some cases, agents of the Spanish Civil Guard.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember that you have <strong>20 calendar days<\/strong> from the notification to pay the fine with a 50% discount. After this period, the full amount will be paid in full. But be careful! If you miss the deadline, the <strong>AEAT <\/strong>( Spanish Tax Agency) will add a 20% surcharge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"generated-id-9\">Tips on how to avoid traffic fines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The best (and most obvious) advice to avoid traffic fines is to <strong>always respect the speed rules<\/strong>. However, bear in mind these recommendations to avoid penalties if you are driving in Malaga:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Beware of speed cameras<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Speed camera warnings are permitted, but the <strong>use of jammers<\/strong> is prohibited and can lead to fines of up to 6,000 euros and the loss of six points. In addition, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/n332.es\/dont-brake-sharply-when-you-spot-a-radar\/#google_vignette\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">braking sharply<\/a><\/strong> before passing a speed camera can be considered reckless driving and can result in a fine of 200 euros and a four-point deduction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Avoid of the use of devices while driving<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Handling mobile devices while driving can cost you a fine of 200 euros and three points on your driving licence. Set your GPS or any navigation app before you start your journey to avoid distractions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BAC in Spain: Catch up on the latest news<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new year has also brought news in terms of the <strong>blood alcohol limit<\/strong> for driving. From now on, the DGT has set a new blood alcohol limit of <strong>0.20 grams per litre of blood <\/strong>(0.10 mg\/l of air), promoting \u2018zero tolerance\u2019 for alcohol when driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, <strong>motorcyclists<\/strong> will also have new rules: the compulsory use of<strong> full-face or modular helmets<\/strong> and a course for driving motorbikes with a type B licence. All these measures will be implemented with the aim of reducing the number of road deaths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Driving within the speed limit is vital to avoid penalties and, more importantly, ensures road safety.
