<\/a><\/p>\nIf you are staying in Calahonda then you have the toll road to the north (hillside) and the older N340 coast road (seaside). Both roads run along the Costa Del Sol but the large Toll Road carries a lot less traffic and costs money to travel on.<\/p>\n
Nearby resort towns such as Marbella and Fuengirola offer loads to do for not only mum and dad but the kids as well. Throw all your beach towels and sandwhiches into the car and take a trip in your hire car.<\/p>\n
There are many stunning views to see in Calahonda, using a hire car will make it posible to see as\u00a0many of the sights as possible.<\/p>\n
The only advantage to using the N340 coast road over the toll road is that there are many more exits to use and it is a much more direct route over smaller distances.<\/p>\n
The nearest resort towns to Calahonda are Marbella and Fuengirola but you can also reach Puerto Banus within 20 minutes and the pretty Spanish Town of Estepona in around 30 minutes.<\/p>\n
Gibraltar is about a 60 minute drive from Calahonda and if you like driving you can easily reach Jerez, Granada and Seville within a couple of hours.<\/p>\n
One area that is starting to become popular amongst the people that live here and can be reached from Calahonda in around 90 minutes is Tarifa. Tarifa is where the Med meets the Atlantic and the laid back “surfers” atmosphere in Tarifa gives it a laid back feel. To find Tarifa just follow the Toll Road to Gibraltar and keep going!<\/p>\n
