Calahonda has grown so much in the last few years that it should be an area in its own right. At the moment however, Calahonda forms part of Mijas and can be found roughly halfway between Fuengirola and Marbella Town.<\/p>\n

To really explore Calahonda why not consider\u00a0to hire a car from\u00a0Helle Hollis. A great way to explore more of the area at a low cost.<\/p>\n

You can reach various restaurants as well as the golf courses with a hire\u00a0car or by public transport.<\/p>\n

\"Calahonda\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Along with three golf courses Calahonda also has in the region of 50 restaurants that serve a mixture of foods from around the world, from Mc Donalds to Chinese. You will also find a number of supermarkets in Calahonda along with the usual collection of banks, furniture shops, estate agents and general stores.<\/p>\n

The four main golf courses in Calahonda are La Siesta Golf Club, Cabopino Golf Course and Miraflores Golf Course. All the golf courses in Calahonda are open throughout the year and unlike the UK the best time to play golf in Calahonda is during the winter.<\/p>\n

If golf is not your thing then you will find plenty of other sports on offer in Calahonda. There are a couple of tennis clubs and gyms and if you head down to the beach you can find a great selection of water sports.<\/p>\n

As you leave Calahonda you have the choice of driving on the road to Marbella or Fuengirola. Both are about a 15 minute drive and both have the facilities that you would expect in larger Spanish Towns. Marbella has long been a holiday destination for the well heeled and you will find both it main street, Ricardo Soriano and its Old Town full of shops, boutiques and some excellent restaurants and tapas bars.\u00a0 You should not miss a visit to the big shopping center La Ca\u00f1ada in the outskirts of Marbella.<\/p>\n
