The journey from Alicante Airport to the centre of town is a very easy one by car, but not so if are using public transport. Unfortunately there are no trains out of the airport, but there bus service which runs along the coast to Benidorm and operates fairly infrequently during the off season period.

The distance from the airport to Alicante is only 11.5 kms and driving instructions are very easy: from the airport go straight ahead on to the N-338 which is signposted Alicante/Alacant/Cartagena; go straight ahead for just under 2 km on to the N-332 and then drive for another 7 km until you come to a right turn on to the N-340. Keep on this road again for another 2.5 km and it will take you into Alicante. If you do not have a vehicle to do this why not consider using Alicante car rental services.

If you are driving to Benidorm which is 59 kms, you should start out on the N-338 as before but take the route signposted Elche/Valencia/Murcia. Travel for about half a kilometre until you come to the A-7 motorway signposted E-15 Madrid/A-7 Valencia. Keep on this motorway until you reach junction 65 (about a 53 km drive) and turn on to the Avenida de la Comunitat Europea signposted Benidorm/Callesa. Transportation links are excellent from Alicante and it is very easy to drive up and down the Spanish coastline from Alicante where you can drive north to Barcelona or south towards Malaga in about 5 hours. If you are planning to go to the French border you should allow around 7-8 hours.
