From the UK or anywhere in Europe it is easiest to fly into Malaga Airport for your holiday in Riviera del Sol.
Malaga Airport is approximately 25 kms from Malaga Airport and although there are trains and buses at from Malaga they do not offer a direct route into Riviera Del Sol.
Because of the indirect route, a hire vehicle would be of great benefit.
The trains at Malaga Airport run a regular service that is both cheap and efficient. The only problem is the trains only go as far as Fuengirola. Once at Fuengirola you would have to head for the bus station or catch a taxi on to Riviera De Sol.
The easiest way to transfer between Malaga Airport and Riviera is by hiring a car and driving the 25-minute journey yourself.
Simple driving directions from Malaga Airport to Riviera del Sol are as follows: leave the airport by following the A7 / N340 to Cadiz and Algerciras. After about 20 kms the road divides into two. One road is the N340 coast road the other is the A7 Autopista Peaje (toll road).
If you take the right hand lane you will be traveling on the N340 coast road which takes you through Fuengirola and onto Rivera.
If you take the toll road you need to leave at the next exit marked Calahonda. After you have paid your toll drive down through Calahonda to the N340. Once at the N340 take the junction marked Fuengirola. Riviera del Sol is the next turn off.
